Now it was Jalo’s turn to throw away his allowance. He gobbled up a large piece of cucumber (6 cm diameter, 4 cm thick). It got stuck in his throat and after some time of vomiting up thick slime, we started to transport him to the emergency vet. A few minutes before we got to the vet the piece came up by itself – it had been in his throat for 35 mins. So Jalo got to greet the vet in his normal happy manner. He did get a cortisone shot and some other drugs to prevent any more vomiting and now we need to keep an eye out for complications.

Voi Jalo minkä teit! Toivottasti poika pysyy kunnossa eikä mitään jälkisairauksia tule. Taisit säikäyttää Annan ja Raminin kunnolla….

Jalo!!! Miten säikäytit! Maltahan jatkossa syödä hiukka rauhallisemmin. Tosin tohelo siskosi säikäytti minut pari viikkoa sitten, kun söi kuivamuonaa, joka ei ollut liotettu. Ei kyllä edes hotkinut, mutta jotenkin vetäsi mykelön henkeensä tai nenäänsä, kun niiskutti ja haukkoi henkeä jonkin aikaa. Onneksi se loppui itsekseen ja jäkiseurauksia ei tullut. No, flattien kanssa sattuu ja tapahtuu. Assikin oli eläinlääkärin kanta-asiakas nuorena, nyttemmin ei onneksi enää (kun vakuutus on..). Näkyillään!
Apua, voi voi, Jaloa. Toivottavasti kaikki on kunnossa ja Jalo voi hyvin.
Jalo!! Did Ramin & Anna go crazy? My Mom threw a fit last week when I swallowed a pork chop, whole, in a single bite. What else does she think a dog would do??? I’m glad you’re okay.
Ainakin vuorokauden jälkeen Jalo on vielä täysin oma itsensä eikä tulehduksista tai muusta ole merkkiä. Koputetaan puuta.
At least after 24 hours Jalo is perfectly normal without any signs of infections or such. But we’re keeping our fingers crossed.
Jalo, what were you thinking?! Remember what Horace Fletcher said: “Nature will castigate those who don’t masticate.” I hope you and Luka are both out of sick bay soon.
