a directed retrieve?

I’m with Jolene. The hand is too low for a mark signal.
Jolene was quite correct, a directed or blind retrieve. For marks we generally don’t use hand signals. In fact, depending on the test type the judges may even frown upon guiding the dog to marks.

Obviously there are slightly diffrerent rules in each country. Here, in the beginning levels at least, we can direct the dog’s attention to where the bumper will be in the air.
