There really are no words, just an empty space in our hearts. The grand old man is no longer with us.
In less than two weeks Luka began to get more and more tired and ever weaker. When he was so weak that we had to help him get up, we knew it was time to let him go on. He still had an appetite, his eyes sparkled, he still laughed, and on his last evening we went on a slow 2km walk.
This is an end of era – Luka was the only dog of ours that has lived with each star of Life of Jalo: from Kassu to Eino.

My heart sank when I saw your post. I am heartbroken for both of you, and I will so miss seeing photos of him. Eino was lucky to have him as a big brother for a little while. All of the photos in this blog are proof that he lived a wonderful life.
Heartbreaking news. So sorry that the grand old man’s time at your side is over. Luka was the first yellow flat I ever heard of. Still remember the day you introduced him on the blog. What a gorgeous life he had! The very special shadow of Anna will be deeply missed.

Niin pahoillani Anna ja Ramin. En Lukaa sen paremmin tuntenut, mutta hänessä oli se jokin, joka aina vetosi minuun. Jotkut koirat ovat vain erityisempiä kuin muut. Voin kuvitella kuinka erityinen hän oli teille, paljon voimia!

This news was really hard to deal with. Ever since a puppy, Luka has been a delight to be around, with the rare exception of when he was *slightly* overbearing. Probably the flatcoatediest retriever to have ever lived, this one will be missed a lot. We’ll meet again. Until then, your brothers will keep you in good company.
